Jeffrey S. Schecter, Esq. founded the firm of JEFFREY S. SCHECTER & ASSOCIATES, P.C. in 1993 and has focused the firm on the practice of matrimonial and family law. He has been in practice for over twenty years during which time he has successfully handled countless complex matrimonial and family law proceedings to settlement and, when necessary, to trial. After receiving a B.A. degree with honors from State University of New York at Binghamton in Political Science and Philosophy, Mr. Schecter received his J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law in June, 1984. He was admitted to practice in the Second Department of the State of New York in May of 1985, in the Eastern District of New York in September of 1985, and in the Southern District of New York in March of 1987. Mr. Schecter is a member of the Family Law Section of the New York State Bar Association; the Family Law Section of the American Bar Association; the Family Law Sections of the Nassau County Bar Association and Suffolk County Bar Association. He is also a member of the prestigious American Inns of Court for Matrimonial Attorneys, New York Chapter. He is fully up-to-date of all current decisions in the matrimonial and family law area, subscribes to and keeps current of many of the publications pertaining thereto, and  attend meetings of the Matrimonial Sections of both the Nassau and Suffolk County Bar Associations
